OFFICE OF THE CITIZENS OF
THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA (OCFRN)

One People! One Power! One Nation

Introduction

Every Nation is a reflection of the belief and value system of its citizens. Being a citizen of Nigeria begins with knowing who you are and the ideals of a true Nigerian. It is to understand your citizenship rights and your citizenship responsibilities. As citizen, we all owe Nigeria the duty to defend her integrity and sanctity. It is in line with the quest for above national order that the New Nigeria Is Possible vision had put together the New Nigeria Creed. The New Nigeria Creed standards is a worthy reference point for all citizens who seek genuine change, to learn how to be true citizens. Being a true citizen requires all of us to be a people of character and value in pursuit of the unity, peace and progress of Nigeria and for the good of all citizens.

Who Are the NNIP vision Group.

A “New Nigeria is Possible” (NNIP) is a vision voiced by a coalition of patriotic entities (individuals and CSOs) who are united by the common Hope, Passion, and Vision for a new united Nigeria in whom our PEACE, PRIDE, and PURPOSE as a nation will be rediscovered. They are commonly known as We the People of Nigeria (WEPON) having anchored numerous National programmes under the name. Our collective mission is to restore HOPE for our children and among Nigerians through conscious sensitization, enlightenment, and motivation of the citizenry. We are bound by our selfless individual and group sacrifices to promoting values that define our common purpose as a Great Nation, against the backdrop of the current and historical circumstances.

What is OCFRN?

The acronym OCFRN stands for the “Office of the Citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”. OCFRN is not a political or formal public office under or affiliated to the government of the federal republic of Nigeria. The OCFRN idea was born out of a stunning realization that it will take the will and power of the people of Nigeria to bring about effective nation building. Whenever citizens of any society decide to adhere to progressive ideologies and insist that only good intentions that protect the interest of everyone will be supported, it will alter the mindset of leaders or intending leaders to adjust to good deeds or be booted out of the system. This is because POWER INDEED BELONGS TO THE PEOPLE. OCFRN is therefore conceptualized to fill the gaps that the old Nigeria order had created and erase the fears and unnecessary worship citizens had developed for office holders, even when they know that their representatives are on the wrong track. In this new dispensation, Nigerian citizens will no longer vehemently deny themselves the power to take decision or participate in the decision making and implementation processes of public businesses. They will insist that only best options intended for the good of the nation will be allowed. A bad government can only continue to the extent the people allow it.

The New Nigeria

To institute a culture of taking responsibility for Nigeria among the Citizens.

  6. Activate Strong Social Media Presence through networking with other Civil Society Organizations and other like minds.

  7. Create a Leadership structure with Central, State, and LGA coordinators based on voluntary responsibilities and self-services founded on Character and Love for your community. 15. OCFRN shall not accept any funding from serving government. All services needed by the Office shall be provided on pro-bono basis by concerned citizens themselves.

  16. Outstanding Citizens of the Year shall be recognized, rewarded, and recommended for paid services based on outstanding demonstration of Character, Integrity, and Patriotism in their operations at any level. Such citizens shall be identified in the course of every year and recognized with the Ambassador of the OCFRN by the citizens group.

  17. There shall be regular Press Conferences and town hall meetings to review progress made and to identify better ways of doing things.

The OCFRN has short- and long-term national development plan which hinges on “developing citizens to build their nation”. Our short-term plan is to create citizenship responsibility orientation that the people can learn from and become active in their right thinking and citizenship responsibilities to the point that citizens start taking up national roles on their own. This will lead to birthing ideas and pushing forward solutions to any problem in the society.

These two assignments will be run under two different programmes namely “Citizens Active Mobilization Against Lawlessness for Good Governance – CAMAL” and “Citizens Responsibility Action For Nation Building – CRANB”.

What is CAMAL4G?

CAMAL4G or simple known as CAMAL stands for “Citizens Active Mobilization Against Lawlessness for Good Governance”. CAMAL is a reliable and strong corrective instrument (programme) created and designed by the OCFRN to inspire and mobilize the common citizens on the need to use their will powers to build a Nigerian Nation of their dream, for the benefit of Africa and the beauty of the World at large. CAMAL is not an enforcement programme, hence, brutality or enforcement of any form will not be encouraged, rather Citizens will serve as enlightenment and awareness tools to help others be conscious of their acts and be supported to change positively, knowing that all reasons for CAMAL is for the good of the society. However, where resistance is required to stop any form of civil violation or where culprits become more resistant to orderliness, citizens are advised to report the incidence to the relevant government agency through the government contacts provided for that jurisdiction. If the government agency responsible for the incidence is not responding accordingly, then report the case to a higher level of OCFRN for further actions on the report.

An injustice to One Citizen is an Injustice to All Citizens; A violation of any Law of the Land is a violation of the rights of all Citizens.

  1. To encourage character and civic responsibilities among the citizens

  2. To encourage good governance and accountability among public servants

  3. To mobilize the citizens to take responsibilities in supporting government policies and programmes.

  4. To encourage the citizens to support the government agencies and instruments in enforcing policies and laws, and discouraging lawlessness and corrupt public service attitudes.

  5. To raise a reliable and trusted voice of the citizens for a sustained New United Nigerian Nation

  6. To network with all relevant Government institutions and instruments for a healthy Government-Citizens Relationship

  7. To help restore the Sense of Ownership and Responsibility among Nigerian Citizens and help them know their rights.

  8. To encourage Citizens to be actively part of politics and government because it is the citizens who occupy the public and political offices.

  9. To reward demonstration of true and responsible Citizenship in all areas of our livelihood as citizens.

  10. To bridge the gap between those citizens serving in government and other citizens to instill the sense of common ownership and purpose in them.

  11. To advise the government of the Needs and Will of the common Citizens based on common expressions of the citizens through our instrument of assessment of the views of the citizens.

What Is CRANB?

The term CRANB is “Citizens Responsibility Action For Nation Building”. It is conceptualized to inspire Nigerians to form the habit of providing solution for the challenges facing their society because other nationals cannot do it on their behalf. The widely recognized global cliché that “it takes the effort of citizens of a country to build their own society” is a truth and legacy every developed society had deployed to advance their own development and wellbeing. In the same vein, it will take a consistent conscious action by Nigerians to put in place a decent Nigerian society they will be proud to own. In this case, citizens should take steps to live for the integrity of Nigeria their country, and be united in purpose to protect and defend her territorial decency and continuity. This will mean that all Nigerians and foreigners living in Nigeria will be safe, happy, and progressive because Nigerians are living up to their true citizenship. CRANB will signal a new dawn; marking the end of an era (old Nigeria) and the beginning of another era (New Nigeria) when Nigerian citizens change from the usual “blame game” to “providing-solution game”. It is a continuation of the New Nigeria Is Possible (NNIP) work-in-progress whereby the citizens gladly accept their citizenship responsibility by becoming the channel of solution to every national challenge. As citizens willingly provide evidential solutions to emerging societal challenges, the government cannot ignore the power and ideas of the citizens. When those in leadership are not doing enough, the citizens with the capacity will replace them.

  1. Set up segments that will allow citizens to select their area of preference, where they desire to provide solutions to nagging societal issues

  2. To sensitize and sanitize the hearts of Nigerians in accepting that it is their responsibility to build a functional Nigerian society

  3. To encourage citizens to take full responsibility along with those entrusted with public representations and authorities for the good of their environment

  4. Through renewed interest for solutions to societal problems, encourage effective leadership outcomes in all important endeavors

  5. To convince citizens of the need to use their special gifts to contribute to the growth of their society. Make citizens great thinkers and innovators who use their talents for the development of their society

  6. To encourage citizens to be reliable and trust-worthy agents of national change in different spectra of their national existence.

  7. To ensure good governance outcomes that are hinged on capacity to deliver and competence in what needs to be done.

The CAMAL and CRANB are two short-term programmes of the Office of the Citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (OCFRN) that will run concurrently to inculcate the new national citizenship responsibility consciousness in Nigerians, until taking responsibility for our national unity, peace and progress becomes a national culture amongst all citizens.
